What We're Drinking

The Freewheel line with a couple of English friends.

It takes a lot of beer to keep the wine business running smoothly. Here in Redwood City, we are very fortunate to have a great English style ale producer right in our backyard: Freewheel Brewing Company. The staff of K&L are fictures at our local pub, and it is a rare moment when one of us isn't there having a pint and a bite of their excellent food. We are also lucky enough to be the first place to offer their bottled beer for sale. If you have never had it, the Freewheel Brewing "FSB" Freewheel Special Bitter, California (500ml) is the benchmark in fresh, balanced, smashable ale. We will do our best to keep some in stock for you, the customer too!

Ardbeg & OC Choppers at K&L Hollywood

Thursday, September 23rd from 4-7 p.m. It's Ardbeg Chopper Night at K&L Hollywood!

Whoever said Whisky and motorcycles don't go together?  Well, normally they don't (at least not at the same time), but for once they do!  If you haven't heard already, OC Choppers (from the hit show American Chopper) and Ardbeg Distillery have teamed up to create two totally unique "choppers," to commemorate the successful rebirth of one of Port Ellen's finest distilleries.  The bikes will be on display as part of a national tour at K&L Hollywood on Thursday, September 23rd from 4-7 p.m.  All who attend will receive special pricing on any of the Ardbeg bottlings (up to 10% off).  I'm talking Ardbeg 10 year, Ardbeg Uigeadail, Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist and even the limited-release Ardbeg Corryvreckan--while supplies last.  The event is totally free, so just show up, check out the bikes and benefit from this deal on top of our already excellent prices. There’s no better time to stock up on this peaty gem.  Please take advantage of this one-day opportunity.
