Champagne Devaux with Camille Zanette
Many of you had the chance to taste last Friday with Camille in the Redwood City store. In this video, Camille talks about Champagne Devaux which is new to the West Coast.
Champagne Devaux was founded in 1846 and has been owned by the growers who supply it since 1986. We tasted and currently have in stock, the following wines, which all come from the combined vineyards of the over 800 grower/ owners of Devaux.
Click on the links to learn more about these elegant Champagnes:
Devaux "Cuvee D" Brut Champagne $44.99 This is a very rich, round Champagne with nice toast and weight. Fans of the English style of Champagne will really enjoy the extra maturity of this non-vintage.
2002 Devaux "Cuvee D" Brut Vintage Champagne $75.99 This ripe, developed 2002 shows off the attractiveness of this great vintage in Champagne. It is full of ripe apple, croissant butter and honey. The wine comes together to finish dry with admirable length. It should keep for many years to come- but it tastes a little to good now to save!
Devaux "Ultra D" Extra Brut Champagne $59.99 This racy zero dosage Champagne is full of high toned citrus and minerals and makes a great partner for sushi. Since this Champagne has absolutley no sugar added it is among the very driest that we stock.
Devaux Grand Reserve Brut Champagne $39.99 Aged for 3 years on the lees and blended with 20% reserve wines, the Grand Reserve is clean, expressive creamy Champagne that makes a nice aperitif.
