Bruno Michel "Blanche" Brut Champagne $34.99One of our best non-vintage Champagnes, this organically grown blend of half each Chardonnay and Meunier comes entirely from Bruno Michel's estate. It has been aged for six years on the lees and shows wonderful natural toasty quality as well as incredible vibrance! This was the big hit of our most recent staff Champagne tasting and we think you will love it too.

Free Spirits Tastings at K&L! Now that we have our license for spirits tastings in Redwood City and San Francisco, we’re excited to host regular free spirits tastings in those locations.  Check the Spirits Journal for an updated tasting schedule.

All tastings will feature different products from the Spirits Department and take place on Wednesdays in Redwood City and San Francisco. Visit our events page on Facebook or the K&L Spirits Journal for more information.

Sake Tasting this Friday 11/9! 

 K&L's expanding Sake offering features some of the most sought-after Sakes. Come taste new arrivals with us this Friday at K&L Redwood City!

Join K&L's very own Certified Sake Professional Melissa Smith in Redwood City on Friday, November 9th for a special tasting of our newest Sake arrivals. You will learn about this fascinating drink while enjoying some the most sought-after Sakes at a range of price points. Melissa is also a trained chef and will be offering food and sake pairing tips, not to mention lots of other helpful information about Sake. This is a great opportunity to develop your palate while expanding your drinking horizons!

Sake 101: Junmai

There are five kinds of premium Japanese sake, which come from all over the island chain, but the one we're going to focus on for our first Sake 101 post are the most common: Junmai, which literally means pure rice. These are not the sakes you drink hot in cheap sushi bars to drown out the taste, but subtle beverages made from fermented rice with the complexity of some of the world's best white wines.
